The Saga

Manseerah مانسيرة
The Great Poetic Epic of Modern Man
82 great writers from around the world – one epic poem

Manseerah is a global collective authorship project of the epic poem ‘Manseerah’. It is a combination of the words “Man” meaning human, and “Seerah” meaning biography in Arabic. It is a project similar to the great poetic works and grand epics of history, but it is concerned with the modern man.

‘Manseerah’ is a poetic epic that we intend to work on with the participation of the world's leading poets, to whom we invite to send passages written specifically for this poetic saga that narrates the biography of humanity as seen by today's poets, with an open horizon in writing and addressing contemporary human issues including the issues of love, war, identity crisis, climate change, the question of existence and the poet's amazement at the transformations they see in their everyday life.

In the beginning, the world was one thing

No West, East, no clarity or ambiguity

The start does not know it has an end

Nor did the end begin, or have any supporters

Silence was born a master, and was disturbed only by the bump of stubbornness of two rocks

The air was then, the remnants of the breath of dead Gods

There is nothing left of them but the human being

The master, the slave, the sand, the crown, the insomniac dust

The decayed if the wind blows and its wolves howl

The schizophrenic, because he created mirrors and did not leave them asleep in the waters

And he is the disassembler word by word

He is you and not you

The descendant of tampering in the games of love, war, and the lust for annihilation

Who lives in the village, the city, the cave, and the corner

The human who said everything

Yet it’s like he didn't speak

Once we heard him, delirious, “I am the mind.”

But in the morning, we found his fingers cut off

His mouth is stamped with the word ‘NO’

Once he said, “I am the last courier on the road to freedom.”

But he hasn't found his way yet

Little by little, the kings invented for him the idea of a stable

They threw him a horse and a mule to plough the land of hope

Day by day

Businessmen created the job for him

They bathed him and dressed him and said, “This is the new idol of civilization.”

Today…

Children worship the traffic light, only when it's red

Sirens ring in the streets

When a poet writes a love poem with a knife and not a pen

As if ... and perhaps

The truth is a small lifeboat in a rough ocean

Good and evil are wheels of a bicycle for those who run away first

So let it be

We'll let the turtle and rabbit race go on forever

We will say, “The land belongs to everyone, even if falsely”
